Sclerotherapy has been used for decades to treat varicose and spider veins and is safe and effective. It can be done in our office with no anesthesia.
Endovenous laser therapy uses laser light to destroy the vein. It is also performed in our office and takes just minutes to complete. Our specialist uses imaging to guide the laser through the vein. It will be directed at several locations and the vein will collapse and gradually be absorbed by the surrounding tissue.
Radiofrequency ablation uses heat to destroy the vein. The probe is guided into the vein using imaging and the heat is applied along the length of the probe. Yet another available varicose vein treatment is microphlebectomy.
All of the above treatments will remove varicose veins. However, new veins may become affected if you continue a lifestyle that contributed to their development.
