Vaser liposuction is a safe, minimally invasive method of eliminating stubborn body fat. It is an acronym that stands for “vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance.”
Since the procedure targets areas using ultrasound technology, we can contour our patients’ bodies in greater detail like never before. The method uses ultrasonic vibrating pulsations from a small cannula that breaks down fat cells from deeper tissues in your body so that they can be easily removed.
Vaser liposuction is a popular solution for those looking to make their abdominals more visible. The procedure can also be performed on a wide range of areas including thighs, calves, ankles, hips, buttocks, back, and more. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Smith and the medical team at Smith Cosmetic. Our friendly staff will discuss how Vaser liposuction can help you.

- Less swelling, bruising, and scars

The best way to know if Vaser liposuction is right for you is to meet with Dr. Smith. Schedule an appointment with us today to see if this treatment is right for you.
However, you should know, ideal candidates should be non-smokers, in general good health, and:
- At a stable weight
- Have low body fat percentage
- Have isolated pockets of abdominal fat
Vaser liposuction has worked wonders for many people seeking their ideal body shape. However, it should not be used as your sole method of weight management. The procedure will not correct serious cases of excess fat. It is best used for mild-moderate amounts of body fat to be removed.
Before treatment, Dr. Smith will meet with you during an initial consultation to determine whether Vaser liposuction is right for you. You will be examined and asked about areas of concern, current diet, and exercise practices. You will then undergo a physical examination to determine your candidacy.
Patients approved for the procedure will be advised on a comprehensive treatment plan to achieve their brand new look. Dr. Smith will also discuss details on how to prepare for the surgery, costs involved, and post-surgery care.
The innovative Vaser liposuction treatment has furthered its popularity. Thanks to its revolutionary methods, patients can now unlock more possibilities than ever before. Below are some common areas of the body where patients tend to focus:
Vaser for Abdominal Sculpting
Many patients say their biggest issues lie within the belly area. This is where a lot of stubborn fat is located. Fat in this area takes on various forms with each demanding its own separate approach for improvement. Dr. Smith uses Vaser to craft delicate fat stores in the subdermal plane to make the abdominals stand out.
Vaser Lipo for Upper Back & Arms
A healthy diet and an active lifestyle are recommended for everyone. Unfortunately, doing both is not enough to deliver the results you want. Vaser liposuction can help by creating a chiseled silhouette along your back, shoulders, and upper arms. It can be difficult to tone your upper torso with exercise alone. However, with the help of Vaser, the ultrasound waves give a much-needed boost to your workout plan.
Vaser Lipo for Legs
Countless hours on the treadmill or the StairMaster will build upper leg muscles, but it is hard to eliminate the fat by exercising alone. Vaser will take care of the bulk while increasing the tone of your muscle at the same time.
Face and Neck Vaser Enhancement
The chin, neck, and face are also common places where little fat deposits are stored. The Vaser liposuction treatment revolutionizes face sculpting and leaves you feeling like a brand new person.
Vaser for the Chest
Men struggling with gynecomastia, or enlarged male breasts, can be relieved that Vaser liposuction is an excellent solution. Ultrasound waves will shape your chest and the flanks that surround the torso. The Vaser treatment also delivers results for females wishing to reduce their breast size without making dramatic changes to their overall physique.
Dr. Smith and our medical staff will prepare you on how to prepare for the surgery. Let us know of any medication you’re currently taking. Do not take blood-thinning medication, such as ibuprofen in the 2 weeks leading up to your surgery. Avoid consuming alcohol the night before the procedure. Dr. Smith will also give you some additional instructions.
Please plan to have a loved one or friend present at our clinic on the day of your Vaser treatment. You should also have someone to take care of you during your first 24 hours after treatment to ensure you are recovering comfortably.
During Vaser liposuction, you’ll be resting comfortably so that you have a pleasant experience. Next, tumescent fluid will be injected into the targeted area to numb the area being treated and shrink blood vessels. This helps minimize blood loss and bruising. Then, ultrasound probes will enter the body through a small incision to the skin to break up fat cells. Gradually, the fat cells will break away from the surrounding tissue and a suction cannula will be inserted to gently remove the fat. The final result will enhance the look for your targeted area.
We will go over your aftercare instructions to help you with your recovery period. Dr. Smith will prescribe you pain management medication to minimize discomfort.
Patients may be asked to make follow-up appointments at our office to check on their progress. Dr. Smith will ensure that you are on the right path to recovery.
We recommend you take at least 2-3 days off from work after the procedure so you can recuperate from surgery. Although we encourage moderate activity within a couple of days, you should wait 2-4 weeks before resuming vigorous exercise routines. You will return twice a week for treatments to encourage lymphatic drainage. You will likely wear a surgical compression garment to help shape the treated areas after surgery. It can be easily worn under your clothing for 4-6 weeks. Visible results can be seen right after the procedure is done, but full results gradually emerge over the next several months. The operation does not prevent fat from coming back. We suggest that you maintain a healthy diet and exercise for long-term results.
Patients will see noticeable results immediately after the surgery. However, full effects may not be seen until months after the recovery process is complete. You can rest assured that your new look will come to light after the swelling is gone. After 2-3 months, you should see the desired look take shape, however, the full results may take longer.
The exact cost depends on what areas you want to focus on. During your consultation with our staff, Dr. Smith will guide you through our fee structure. We’ll also assist you with a personalized payment plan catered to your needs. To get an individualized quote, contact us at Smith Cosmetic Surgery to schedule a consultation.
What is the Difference Between Vaser Liposuction and Traditional Liposuction?
Both may share the same name but their method of treatment is remarkably different. Traditional liposuction uses a cannula, or suction device to remove fat cells from the body. Compare that to Vaser, where it does use a cannula to suction out fat cells. However, an aspirator and ultrasonic device are also used to aid the process of fat breakdown and removal. Not to mention Vaser has lower operation and recovery time.
