Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique that painlessly uses a scalpel to remove the layers of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This leaves the skin immediately smooth, supple, and vibrant.
After the dermaplaning portion is complete, a gentle Stimulator peel is applied for a second chemical exfoliation treatment. Since the top layer of dead skin has been removed, the Stimulator peel will absorb deeper into the skin, in turn softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The stimulator peel is designed to exfoliate by stimulating cellular turnover to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity. The best part is that there is no downtime, peeling, or redness afterward; just glowing, healthy skin.
This treatment is affectionately known as the “Red Carpet Peel” owing to the number of celebrities that avail of it before they have to look picture perfect for red carpet events, and can’t afford to hide away with the redness and flaking that some strong peels cause.
The peel contains a blend of 3 different acids to promote skin cell turnover. These include 10% salicylic, 10% Lactic Acid, and 10% Citric Acid. These are known as AHA or Alpha Hydroxy acids- they dissolve dead skin cells and give a great exfoliation to the upper layers of the skin. The salicylic acid works on oily and sensitive skin to reduce inflammation, and the citric acid gives the skin a healthy glow.
